Ο Σόυμπλε ξαναχτυπά… όχι πως είχε σταματήσει δηλαδή, ε. Μιλώντας στο Ευρωπαϊκό Τραπεζικό Συνέδριο της Φρανκφούρτης επανέλαβε την πάγια αντίθεσή του στην αναδιάρθρωση του Ελληνικού χρέους. Τόνισε μάλιστα πως για όλα φταίνε οι ίδιοι οι ΄Ελληνες που “ζούν πάνω απο τις δυνατότητές τους” και που σε σχέση με το ΑΕΠ τους “απολαμβάνουν σημαντικά υψηλότερες κοινωνικές παροχές και συντάξεις από ό,τι για παράδειγμα οι Γερμανοί πολίτες”.
Δεν υπάρχει αμφιβολία πως ο κύριος Σόυμπλε γνωρίζει καλά το αν και πόσο πάνω απο τις δυνατότητές τους ζούνε οι Έλληνες. Τα επίσημα στοιχεία, οι στατιστικές, είναι δημόσια γνωστά. Φαίνεται όμως πως για τον κύριο Σόυμπλε το θέμα δεν είναι οικονομικό αλλά ιδεολογικό, σε συνδιασμό με κάποια “Προτεστάντικη” επιθυμία της τιμωρίας “του κακού και σπάταλου”.
Ας είναι. Δεν μένει παρά να εκφράσουμε, εμείς οι Έλληνες, την βαθειά μας λύπη και αλληλεγγύη προς τους αναξιοπαθούντες Γερμανούς πολίτες που απολαμβάνουν σημαντικά χαμηλότερες κοινωνικές παροχές και συντάξεις από εμάς. Λυπούμαστε πολύ, φίλοι Γερμανοί!

Schaeuble strikes again… not that he ever stopped, of course. Speaking at the European Bank Conference in Frankfurt he repeated his standing position against the restructuring of the Greek debt. He also expressed the opinion that it is all the Greek people’s fault “for not living within its means”. He went even further by saying that with respect to their GNP they (the Greeks) enjoy much higher social provisions and pensions than the German citizens”.
There is no doubt that Mr. Schaeuble is well aware of if and how much Greeks live above their means. Official data and statistics are publicly available. What is for certain though is that for Mr. Schaeuble this is not an economic matter at all. It is a matter of ideology combined with some sort of “Protestant” wish to punish “the bad spendthrift”.
So be it. It remains for us Greeks to express our sympathy and solidarity to the poor and needy German citizens who have much lower social provisions and pensions than we. Dear German friends, we are truly sorry.
