Λαχανιά. Φωτιά πρόπερσι, φωτιά πέρσι,
Φωτιά φέτος. Μεσάνυχτα, ανάμεσα 19 προς 20 Ιουλίου. Περιοχή ερημική, χωρίς κυκλοφορία, χωρίς σπίτια. Ύποπτη φωτιά; Σίγουρα. Αέρας δυνατός, διακοπή ηλεκτρικού και κινητής τηλεφωνίας για δυο περίπου ώρες. Ντόπιοι με τα τρακτέρ και η έγκαιρη επέμβαση της πυροσβεστικής έλεγξαν τη φωτιά. Με το φως της ημέρας θα μετρήσουμε τη ζημιά.
Θα πιαστεί κανείς, θα μάθουμε τα αίτια; Σίγουρα όχι, αν κρίνουμε απο τις τόσες άλλες φωτιές στο νησί. Κατά τα άλλα καλά.
Παρμένες με το τηλέφωνο και άρα όχι καλές οι φωτογραφίες μου -το ξέρω. Μα δίνουν νομίζω την εικόνα, την έκταση του κακού.
Lachania. Fire the year before, fire last year.
Fire this year too. Midnight, between July 19 and 20. A location without houses, no traffic -empty. Suspicious fire? You bet! A strong wind, power cut and no mobile telephones for a couple of hours. Local farmers with tractors and the prompt arrival of the firemen on the spot did manage to put the fire under control. With the light of the day we will know the damage done.
Will anyone be held responsible, will we ever learn the cause? Certainly not, if we are to judge by so many other fires on the island. Otherwise all’s well.
