Ελληνικός Οργανισμός Τουρισμού. 60 χρόνια Ιστορίας. (ΒΙΝΤΕΟ)

In the years 1951-1965 we designed and ran the "Xenia" project, a huge chain of works of public tourist infrastructure and fine hotels in the whole of the country, thus successfully satisfying the ever-increasing demand for first-class accommodation. Those hotels had been housed in state-of-the-art buildings, constructed in key spots for the country; as a result, areas of supreme beauty and abundant tourism resources emerged as different destinations within Greece. On the other hand, the GNTO boosted accessibility and visitability to tourist sites such as beaches, marinas, thermal springs, caves, open-air theatres, golf courses etc.
Since 1954 the organisation has presented the Epidaurus Festival and the Athens Festival, i.e. conspicuous cultural events held in beautiful and sacred venues (like the ancient theatre of Epidaurus itself) that have offered their spectators glorious moments, thanks to great performances by world famous artists. Among them we proudly remind Maria Kallas, Herbert Von Karayan, Margot Fonteyn, Rudolf Nureyev, M. Bejart, Katina Paksinou, Alexis Minotis, and Anna Sinodinou.
