Το Μετέωρο Βήμα, συνέχεια – The Suspended Step, continued - Του Βαγγέλη Παυλίδη

Όπως είπα και προχθές, επανέρχομαι στο θέμα της έκθεσης στην Αθήνα. Το να πεί κανείς πως η τεράστια επιτυχία της αποδεικνύει, για άλλη μια φορά, την τεράστια δύναμη επικοινωνίας που έχει η γελοιογραφία είναι το λιγότερο. Το σπουδαιότερο είναι πως πραγματεύτηκε ένα φλέγον και αμφιλεγόμενο αντικείμενο –το προσφυγικό- και κατάφερε να το αναδείξει, να πληροφορήσει, να συγκινήσει και να μιλήσει στον κόσμο και να ταράξει συνειδήσεις.

Όπως προχθές, παραθέτω μερικά σχόλια απο το βιβλίο επισκεπτών –όσα πρόλαβα να αντιγράψω. Είναι στην γλώσσα και την ορθογραφία τους. Λείπουν τα πολλά γραμμένα στα Αραβικά. Δεν λείπουν και μερικά που εκφράζουν την αντίθεσή τους ή που απλά είναι περίεργα. Εσις θα κρίνετε.

I promised the other day that I would return to the subject of the exhibition in Athens and here I am. To say that the great success of the exhibition proves the great communicative power of cartoons is the least. What is most important is that it deals with an urgent and contentious issue –the refugees- and it succeeded to inform, to touch and to talk to people and to shake up many “unconscious consciousnesses”.

I give some of the comments written in the gvisitors’ book. I translate those in Greek and I keep the language and spelling of the rest. Missing are those in Arabic. Not missing are either directly opposed to the spirit and scope of the exhibition or just plain peculiar.

COMMENTS
